It's Election Time!

The greatest danger facing this territory on Saturday is the prospect of a Green dominated Labor government.  It's the biggest single reason that I'm running as an independent candidate.  To push this ideological Labor government further to the left would be disastrous. More than anything else, I don't believe that a Green dominated Stanhope Government is a genuine representation of what this community wants.

The Greens lead Brindabella candidate Amanda Bresnan was a guest on minor party and independent talkback on 666 ABC this morning.  She confirmed that the Greens do not support the enlargement of the Cotter Dam.  They are diametrically opposed to us ever building another dam.  Their water policy is based upon us simply using less water.  It's a bit more extensive than that, but that's the gist of it.  If the Greens had their way, the Ginninderra Drive Extension would not exist.  They want you to ride your bike into the city....or take a bus.

The Greens believe that you can change the world from London Circuit.  I don't.  Global ideology rarely translates well to local politics.  The Greens policies won't save the planet, but they will cause pain for a lot of Canberrans just trying to go about their business.  It is my belief that the two published polls during this campaign have overestimated the Green vote.  Don't let them hold this Territory to ransom.  Irrespective of whether you vote for me on Saturday I would urge you to leave the Greens out.

I would like to endorse Mike Crowther from the Community Alliance Party as my preferred second choice candidate.  I only met Mike for the first time last month, but I've been so impressed by the way that he operates and I believe that he would be huge asset to the community in the Assembly.

For Ginninderra voters if you must vote Liberal, I would endorse Jacqui Myers.  And as far as the Labor candidates up this way, Dave Peebles get's my vote.
